Sadly, most of the artists that agreed to participate in this weekly challenge blog have failed to hold up their end of the bargain. As a result, Rei (oblaat) and I have agreed to just make this our independent project.

Challenge #2 entry:
I decided to make a quick 30-minute sketch of Kimbra inspired by her song Cameo Lover. I wanted my sketch to be a spin off of the title.
For those who don’t know what cameo stands for: A short descriptive literary sketch that neatly encapsulates someone or something.

The Plundering Pirates Challenge #1: Self portrait w/ short bio, style and inspirations.
Biography (taken straight from my site):
Nathalia “Nanners” de Matos is a freelance illustrator born August 21, 1989 in the cloudy and overpopulated city of São Paulo, Brazil. She is currently pursuing an Illustration degree from Western Connecticut State University and plans on designing Fantasy and Science Fiction book covers once she completes the program. Nathalia currently lives in Bethel, Connecticut and is open to commissions.
Style: Fantasy and sci-fi dark art. Realism with a smidgen of eastern influences.
Inspirations: Renaissance paintings, literature and astrophysics.

Since we’re getting new members, I decided to extend this theme until the 14th. So whenever you guys are ready, just go ahead and upload your sketches!
For those who are finished, or for those who don’t feel like making a self portrait, i’ll introduce another theme this Saturday. Both themes will end on the the 14th!

Welcome, welcome!
Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce a weekly drawing project of which we so affectionately named “The Plundering Pirates.” Every weekend I will post a theme for our small group of lovely ladies to create what they believe is the best representation. The sketches themselves should only take each artist 10 - 30 minutes to complete, but longer submissions are more than welcome! All mediums are also welcome.
Without further ado, i’d like to name our first theme! It would seem quite appropriate to begin with a quick self portrait with a short description of the artists biography, style, inspirations and a link to their personal website. Each picture posted on this blog from here on out should be linked via content source.
